I have science here

Elevated train platform, originally uploaded by Jimmy Legs.

We met with the tax guy finally this weekend, he should be processing everything now. We have always done our taxes ourselves but we were too spooked by the variables involved with being a homeowner. Since we didn't move in until the end of October, though, it means we won't realize much benefit this time around. But at least we'll be better-prepared next time around.

Meanwhile, Lucy's been to the vet, now she's on antibiotic pills, which are proving to be a challenge to get her to consume. She's not falling for the hide-pill-in-cat-treat method anymore, and I haven't perfected the shove-pill-into-mouth-and-hold method. I tried that this morning and she tried to "drool" the pill out by slobbering it onto the floor. Lovely.

Did you go to the guy we talked about?

Glad Lucy's been taken care of - you have my sympathy, giving pills can be a real pain. We're lucky with Dub since he's taken them most of his life and does it really easily, but I dread the prospect of ever having to administer meds to the girls.

actually we went with a guy i found in williamsburg whose claim to fame is he's cheap. he's one of those brooklynites who tells you "you know, the worst thing brooklyn ever did was vote to join new york city."

Lucy actually took a pill well last night, but i tried it this morning and she had new and painful defenses for my maneuvers. at this point i think it would be easier to give her injections than pills!

Having lived with an insulin-dependent diabetic cat, I can say with CERTAINTY it is easier to give injections than administer pills!

Highly suggested: knee lock the body, pull head up, open jaw with one hand, shove pill all the way into the back of throat with other, clamp down mouth and rub neck.

I have to do it to Irving every evening. He tries the drool thing, too.

Taxes make me nervous, which is why
I'm glad my dad is an accountant. I've already informed him that he will be doing my taxes until he gets too old to hold a pen, haha.

jimmy, any idea of the expenses you were able to deduct.

oh how i wish all those expensive weekend trips to home depot could be tax deductible.
