Yesterday was the official opening of the new Target at the
Atlantic Terminal Mall (although Buzz McKinnon apparently
got in there Saturday somehow). I checked it out, intending
to exhaustively document the experience in photographs to
share with you people not lucky enough to live down the street
from a big national-chain department store. I started off
well enough, but after I saw the guys on stilts, the balloon-animal
artists, and the sheer volume of mesmerized Sunday shoppers,
I lost my desire to capture the moment and then spent a good
half hour just trying to get out of the damn place. I'll go
back when when there's less people there.

Lots of balloons, lots of people, but I couldn't find a bike
rack anywhere.

Every mall needs one, I guess. I'm more interested in the
Guitar Center that will open soon.

All I'm saying is they better have free WiFi

Weirdos on stilts, mimes, balloon animals, and way too many
slow-moving people

I'm not sure if this was such a good idea considering the
number of small children running around

Across the street, we are reminded that not every Ratner plan
is a good idea
