Louder than a bomb
Wow, some company is throwing
its hat into the Atlantic Railyards ring. Some company
called Extell put in a bid on the property. It's a much smaller
proposal than Ratner's arena
deal and won't take any private
property. Also the buildings won't blot out the sky like
Ratner's 60-story towers (although at 28 stories apiece the
Extell buildings will still be pretty imposing for that area).
From the picture it appears there will be a lot of green
space, which should be a good thing. Then again, the layout
in The Projects also has a lot of 'green' space, although
nobody would argue it really increases quality of life for
the residents. Anyway I'm glad there's some competition for
the space.

Meanwhile, the explosions
in London are super scary, I hope they figure out exactly
who's responsible. Was it a reaction to the G8
summit? Why didn't they attack Edinburgh then? My friends
James and
Martha recently relocated to central London. I was looking
up their house and saw it was just a few blocks from where
the bombs went off. They didn't get hurt but they're now 0
for 2 when it comes to picking cities to live in that get
targeted by terrorists. Perhaps they'll move to Jerusalem
next.
